Noel O’Neill has an extensive career as an actor in theatre, television and film both in Australia and the United States. His training began with Lee Strasberg at the Lee Strasberg Institute and continued with Herbert Berghof at HB Studios in New York City.
His one-act plays have won several awards. Those for Holly and Ivy include the Beryl Sylvester Trophy for Best New Writing, Best Actress for Sandra Sando and Best Supporting Actor for Noel O’Neill, all at the ITA Dramafest 2007. At the South-West Festival in Bunbury, Holly and Ivy won Best Play, Best Character Actor for Noel O’Neill and Best Actress again for Sandra Sando.
This multi award-winning play sees a familiar story of sibling rivalry take an unexpected twist when sisters are brought together after many years apart. They bring up old grudges and learn more than they bargained for.
Holly and Ivy’s main stage debut at The Rechabites’ Hall will take place alongside O’Neill’s latest work, After All This Time. A chance meeting in a park brings old friends together again. As they reminisce about the past, seemingly innocent events are revealed to be major episodes in their lives.
